It's interesting... Driving around in the Scottish highlands reminds me a lot of the areas around home. Any road we are on in the country could be the road going up to Grayson Highlands, and any small town we drive through could be Fries, or Galax, or Hillsville...but then you turn around and there is a castle (or castle ruins). It truly is a very cool experience.
Today we drove up to John O' Groats, which happens to be the northern most mainland part of Scotland. I say mainland because there are several islands that are Scottish that are further north. The wind there was ferocious which is apparently true all the time. On the way we stopped at a Pictish Stone, Glenmorangie Distillary, Dunrobin Castle, we ate at La Mirage in Helmsdale and saw many sights along the way.
Tomorrow we are headed to Loch Ness and surrounding area....
CAN'T WAIT...

An area on our way...
