Inverness and Balnuaran of Clava

Today we drove into Inverness which has a ton of history and really neat architecture. Unfortunately, Inverness castle was closed due to renovations that will turn it into more of a capital center with shops and restaurants. We did find a really cool bookstore that has an actual wood burning stove in the center!!! After, we drove to the site of the Battle of Culloden. It has a not so great history and is what the English essentially used to try to wipe the highland culture off the face of the earth, even going so far as to ban tartans and bagpipes... Finally we headed to Balnuaran of Clava which is a prehistoric burial site used by several different locals in ancient times. It was super cool to see the remnants of a culture that is estimated to have used the site some 4000 years ago!!
